Match Day, White Coat Ceremony, and GRADUATIONS!
What a month it has been! We had Kevin's Match Day Ceremony, his White Coat Ceremony, and both of our graduations. Our prayer was that Kevin would be matched in Anesthesiology at UMC and our prayer was answered. We've waited a long time for this day to come and finally it had arrived. It was a long day, but exciting one. The day started out with a breakfast at River Hill's club for all the M4's. Then we headed to UMC to start the ceremony shortly after that. A few weeks later, we had his White Coat Ceremony and graduation. He is officially a doctor now! He has worked so hard to get here and I am so proud of him. Now I know I put graduationS as the title of the post..that's right, I finally finished grad school. It too has been a long journey! I finally finished up while in my 9 month of pregnancy and a couple of weeks after I had Leighton. Tough times, but God pulled me through. The month of May was FULL of blessings for us. It seemed that everytime we turned around, God was blessing us in every area of our lives. Oh, I forgot to mention that Kevin passed Step two as well. I realized this month that God allows bad things to happen to us to bring us closer to Him, but He also blesses us so we will see his goodness and draw us closer to Him as well.

Our first month home with little man....
I have to say, it's been a long month, but a glorious one at that. Leighton and I are learning each other daily, but my love grows for him every second of every day. He has been the best baby since day one. Of course he does the typical newborn stuff like eat, sleep, and poop ALL the time, but he has been wonderful since the day he arrived into the world. He hardly ever cries and I have to wake him up to feed him. He truly is a blessing to us and we couldn't have prayed for a better baby! Here's some pictures of the first couple of months of our little man.
First kiss from Mommy!
Today we went in for our weekly doctor's appointment and found out that we will be having our precious baby boy on April 13th...Monday! Since I had not dilated, he had not dropped, and he was measuring 8lbs. 8ozs. already, the doctor said a section would be best. We were not planning on this news and was a little heart broken about the decision, but at this point I didn't care how he came...I was so uncomfortable and READY to see my little man. I was so excited the morning of that I woke up at 1:00a.m. and could NOT go back to sleep. Needless to say, I had a lot of time on my hands. We headed to the hospital at 5a.m. ..checked in and got ready for the procedure. My whole family was there to help welcome Leighton into the world. Finally went into the delivery room a little before 7:30 and he was born at 7:43a.m. I'll never forget how nervous and excited I was to hear him cry for the first time. The first thing my doctor said was, "Oh Amanda..you'll be so glad you had a section." That means he was a big boy. She also said he was "overbaked". That's the term she used to let me know he was past his due date..they can tell by how long their fingernails are. My sweet baby boy was perfect and it was the most amazing thing to experience!!

Baby showers and brunches...
We're all preggo!
The verse that Kevin read to me when he proposed.
Jennifer (due in July), Me (April), Erika (July), Kristy (April)
The day started off with a brunch at my house to celebrate the fact that me and my high school friends are all expecting at the same time. Then, just a few hours later..we all went to my shower that they gave me. Leighton's first shower was a blast and I loved opening up all of his presents and seeing all the cute things he got. We are so blessed to have family and friends that have fulfilled everything we need to bring our precious Leighton into the world. I had a shower at work too, but have not gotten those pictures from them yet so I can't post any, but it was a wonderful shower.
IT'S A BOY!!!
We had a 'reveal' party at our house one night and invited our closest friends and family to help celebrate what we were having. We went to the doctor to have our checkup and had our sonogram to find out if it was a girl or boy. Without the sonographer even telling me what we were having, I could see it myself. The boy is not shy at all! So our family and friends came over for some food, fun, and fellowship. My dad bought pink and blue glow in the dark necklaces and everyone there chose what they thought it was going to be. Mostly everyone chose pink, but I always knew that I was having a boy. He was active from day one. I wrapped a blue blanket in a box with pink tissue paper. When everyone saw the pink, they screamed, but when I took the BLUE blanket out, they really screamed. It was such a cute party and a great way to announce our little addittion to our family.

A little miracle...
I figured I'd better blog about this sweet sweet baby before he arrives. We found out in August that we were pregnant. When God is ready..boy is He ready! Our little man arrives April 21st, but actually might come earlier. We went the to Dr. this week and I am 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant, but Leighton is measuring at 33 weeks. We will have another sono in 8 weeks to see if I need to induce. We are so excited and can't wait to meet him. It's been amazing being pregnant and I can only imgaine how I'm going to feel when I actually hold him for the first time. I have posted some pics of me while pregnant and some of his sono pics that just melt my heart everytime I see them.

Our sweet babies...
New York
My Dad and stepmother took us to New York during Christmas and we had a blast. We left on a Friday morning and returned on a Monday. We saw just about everything we wanted to see while freezing our behinds off. We went to fabulous restaurants, Mama Mia, Rockettes, Central Park, Macy's, Time Square, and so much more. I was 4 months pregnant and was SO tired from walking everywhere, but it was a wonderful trip. We are so thankful we got to go before Little Man arrived. It even snowed too!
